The problem
Most budgeting apps ask you to do the work twice. You spend the money, then you sit down later and re-enter it into a form, pick a category from a list and hope you remember what the charge was for. Almost nobody keeps that up past the first month, so the app stops reflecting reality and gets deleted.
How we solved it
Imali removes the form. You type or say what you spent in plain language and it works out the amount and the category on its own. Logging an expense takes a sentence, which is short enough that people actually keep doing it, and an accurate picture of your spending is the thing that makes budgeting work at all.
